Forums and Chat Rooms

What is it about Internet Forums that makes me want to spend all my time there? What can I possibly accomplish constantly reloading the Crossroads Forum? Why do I simply sit at my computer without even really *using* the Internet? Do I have such a driving need for human contact that I will take even the quasi-imaginary relationships I have with people online over spending time by myself? Is it my incessant need to feel informed forcing me to constantly check to ensure that I am always updated?

What would happen if I were to pull the plug?
